 Partnership for K-25 Preservation

The Partnership for K-25 Preservation (PKP) K-25 Heritage is a partnership of The Atomic Heritage Foundation and Oak Ridge Heritage & Preservation Association (ORHPA) working to create a heritage tourism site at the location of the historic Oak Ridge K-25 Gaseous Diffusion Plant and the footprint of the original K-25 Building.  The North Tower is being preserved as is the footprint of the K-25 Building which was once the largest building under one roof in the world. A rebuilt Portal 4 is also being included in the design of the Heritage Tourism site as is a Heritage Trail that includes the Wheat community that existed prior to the Manhattan Project.  The construction village of "Happy Valley" as well as the S-50 Thermal Diffusion Plant location and the K-25 Power House location is being marked by a monument to those historic elements of the Manhattan Project.  This effort is being led by Bill Wilcox
